Below I have listed five literacy websites that I recommend you and your child take time to explore at home. Click on the green links to visit the sites.
Funbrain reading is a site that your child should be able to easily navigate on their own. It includes interactive games, comics, Mad Libs, and online books that your child can read, including Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney!
Your child will never get bored of ABCya.com. This site offers a wide variety of games exploring various literacy activities and can be separated by grade level. The games explore anything from sight words to parts of speech and even allow your child to brush up on their Spanish using the Spanish Word Bingo game.
Jump Start has a lot to offer you and your child once you complete a quick, easy, and FREE registration process. Just click on the green "Play Now" button in the top right hand corner of the screen. Jump Start has been a leader in education software since 1991. This site offers endless opportunities including educational games, family activities, crafts, newsletters, and more!
Book adventure is a website that you and your child can use. When it comes to be test time, your child can use it to look up quizzes dealing with some of their favorite books. Your child can find games and activities by looking under the Kids Zone tab at the top of the page. Parents can also use it to help their child study for a book that we may be reading in class. Just type the name of the book in the search bar near the top of the page and you will more than likely find
Bite Size is a website that comes all the way from England and will help your child explore literacy concepts such as deductive reasoning, dictionary skills, poetry, and locating information through fun games. You can also use this website to help your child brush up on their spelling, writing, and grammar.

Funbrain math offers your child many games to explore that deal with a variety of math concepts. A few highlights include "Mummy Hunt" and "Math Basketball." You can even access the games by grade, so if you are looking for a challenge, feel free to sail on up to those 4th grade games!
ABCya.com not only explores literacy skills, but dives deep into math content too! The math games on this website will allow your third grader to work with decimals, money, fractions and more. There are at least 31 different math games for your child to play and have fun.
Cool Math 4 Kids is a really fun site for your child to explore. It directly hits several mathematical concepts that your third grader needs to know, including decimals, fractions, multiplication, and division. It even includes a genius test that your child should be sure to explore!
Figure This is an awesome website that was creating directly by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). By clicking on the picture that says, "Take a Challenge," you can choose from 80 challenges that model real life situations involving creative math skills. These challenges are not only fun, they are guaranteed to make your child think!
Math Game Time features not only math games, but also math videos and math worksheets. From the home page, you can either explore a specific concept by looking at the bar on the bottom left hand side or you can select the grade level from the bar on the top left hand side of the page. Math Game Time will be sure to take up a lot of your child's time!
